Service Description

Recreate your favorite scene from 'Ghost'* at The Art Barn Ceramics Couples Workshop! $150 per couple includes refreshments, instruction, clay, tools, firing and glazing service. Experience throwing pottery on the wheel! After watching a demonstration, you'll be guided through the process of centering the clay & creating a basic shape. Then, with the instructors help, you'll independently make your own piece from start to finish. Each participant will also have a chance to make a hand-built pinch pot. Each couple will get to choose 3 of their creations to finish, which we will fire and glaze. Pieces will be finished approx. 3-4 weeks after your lesson (the time will depend on available kiln space and our class firing schedules. When the work is done, we will contact you to let you know they are ready for pickup. This workshop will be limited to 12 people (6 couples) to ensure everyone has enough 1 on 1 time with the instructor. Each student will spend half their time on the wheel. The remainder of the time will be spent hand-building. Total class time 3 hours. Bring a hand towel or apron & wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty! It is also recommended to trim your nails as short as you're comfortable with. This will make working with the clay easier. Ages 18+ *Each couple will have an opportunity to re-enact the iconic scene from ‘Ghost’ and capture it for posterity. Registration deadline: January 24, 2026
