ART IN THE PARK at the Indiana Dunes National Park

$15/ person,  *PARK ENTRY COST NOT INCLUDED*

*The national park will begin charging an entrance fee March 31, 2022. The fee is $25 per car for a 1-7 day pass. A $45 annual pass for the national park is also available. Holders of the following federal passes will not pay an entrance fee: Annual Pass, Senior Pass, Veterans/Military/Gold Star Family Pass, 4th Grade Pass, Access Pass (disability), and the Volunteer Pass. For more information on other national park passes and details about the new fee, go to www.nps.gov/indu. Please purchase passes or pay entrance fees at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center or at www.recreation.gov/sitepass/indu. When parking, display pass or receipt on the rearview mirror or dashboard.

ART IN THE PARK 2022 SCHEDULE

Session 5: November 12, Autumn Scene, Portage Lakefront & Riverwalk Pavilion

Session 6: December 10, Winter Scene, Portage Lakefront & Riverwalk Pavilion

*Online registration will open one month before each event date. Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance of the event date to be eligible for a refund.  

Lee Bauman will guide students through the process of painting a scene inspired by the dunes.  The November 12th event will take place at the Portage Lakefront & Riverwalk Pavilion, located on 1000 Riverwalk Dr, Portage, IN 46368, and the painting theme is an Autumn Scene. The series of events hosted by the Indiana Dunes National Park in partnership with the Art Barn School of Art is generously sponsored by Friends of Indiana Dunes.

The classes are open to beginners, and accessible to those with physical limitations. Every event will feature a different theme related to the National Park or dunes. By coming together our organizations are collectively able to accomplish a common goal of reaching more individuals through cultural programming that links art and nature together. Ages 18+

 Create art in a social environment at Art Barn in partnership with Pines Village. Experienced instructor and Lifelong Arts Indiana 2021 Fellowship Recipient, Lee Bauman, will guide students through painting and drawing projects during this free 6-week session. All supplies included, class size limited to 10 participants. Adults 65+ can socialize and learn from one-another. Reception of artworks to follow at the Village Gallery Annex at Pines Village and Celebration Center, at the Pines Village Retirement Communities, on Sunday, May 15, from 2:30-4:30pm. Light refreshments will be served. Guests are welcome to attend this free admission opening reception.This partnership exhibition will be on display from May 15- June 15.

Online Registration Required*

Instructor Lee Bauman will provide step by step instructions for a nature inspired painting via Zoom. Participants will create a painting with provided materials from the comfort of their own homes.  Supply kits will be available for pick up at the Art Barn School of Art. Ages 18+
