Service Description

Learn to build animal forms in clay with nature-inspired artist Deana Bada Maloney. In this 3-day workshop, participants will create a relief tile to “sketch” their form, learn to build armature for larger sculptural works, and build their own animal sculpture that they will then use Deana’s unique ink glazing technique to finish. All clay and glazing supplies are included, students should plan to bring their own clay tools, a towel, coarse and soft sable paint brushes in various sizes, and a small sketchbook. Morning coffee/tea and a full lunch will be provided on site each day. Registration Deadline: Friday, March 26, 2027 "I have been an observer of nature all my life. I am continually awestruck at the beauty of the natural world and the magic and mystery in every living thing. My work is a study of living forms, celebrating the structure of how something is made along with the transcendental presence of the subject.
