Art Barn represents a piece of Porter County's rich culture, a place for the art community to network and create. The Indiana Dunes Arts + Culture Trail is a free, self-guided experience that connects creative and cultural destinations, like Art Barn, across the region.

Kuhn Hong is a retired radiologist who enjoys painting portraits as well as plein air painting within the Duneland and Chicago areas. For the last five years since his retirement, he has served at a mission hospital and paints during the weekend and evening hours. He has had solo exhibitions across the globe in Ethiopia, Korea, France and Chicago and exhibits in group shows widely in the region. He currently has a studio in Michigan City, Indiana with fellow artists of the region. 

Hong often participates in outings with the Duneland Plein Air Painters.  During a Spring outing in 2026 he painted the piece “Art Barn in Springtime” featured on our Indiana Dunes Arts & Culture Trail postcard.
