Botanical Alchemy: Eco-Dye and Paper

  • Starts Jun 22
  • 275 US dollars
  • Art Barn

2 Spots Available

Service Description

This workshop is for the artist who loves the unexpected alchemy that can happen when a little time and some heat are applied to plants, flowers, and papers to make a unique eco-dyed print. We will also explore additional ways of editing our prints with modifiers, spot toning, drawing, and more. You will come away from the workshop with a treasure trove of papers that can be used in collage, book making, or even stand on their own as a beautiful finished botanical print. Instructor Sarah Rehmer found her love for working with pages from old books while auditing a class post-graduation at Dominican University in River Forest, IL. She is an Illinois Arts Council-Professional Development Grant recipient, and her work is held in private collections both around the United States and internationally. She teaches classes and workshops around the Midwest. Most supplies will be included, and lunch is served on-site each day. Registration deadline June 10, 2024. This workshop is provided with partial support from the Cleveland Cliffs Foundation.
