Instructor Christine Hubbell will introduce students to painting with colored pencils. Color theory, techniques for layering and blending and composition will be covered. Working with botanical subjects, students will explore ways to produce vibrant color, rich neutrals, and texture. Beginning drawing skills are helpful but not required. Fine art paper included. Students should plan to bring: - A minimum set of 12 artist grade colored pencils, either Prismacolor Premier or Faber Castell Polychromos - Additional individual colors (instructor will provide a list during class) - A good auto-in, manual hand-crank pencil sharpener such as Deli manual desktop pencil sharpener or Rapesco 64 pencil sharpener (available on Amazon/Walmart) - Kneadable eraser - Drawing pad or sketchbook - Pencil
