Service Description

This class with Julia Holmaas will help students with prior watercolor experience to build on their techniques and work on more advanced projects. Painting on different surfaces, achieving special effects with watercolor, and more will be covered in this 4-week session. Suggested supply list: - Covered palette - Brushes: 1.5 or 2" flat brush, 1" flat with shaped handle for scraping and burnishing, #10 or #12 round - Paint: artist quality (Windsor Newton, Grumbacher, etc.) in the following basic colors: alizarin crimson, bright red or perm. red light, new gamboge, lemon yellow or arylide yellow, French ultramarine blue, Prussian blue - Paper: 100% cotton rag watercolor paper, at least one half-sheet (16x20") each of: 140 lb cold press, 140 lb hot press, 140 lb rough, 300 lb (Arches preferred) - spray bottle - sponges - paper towels - palette knife Art Barn will have available water resistant boards for paper, water containers, cotton rags, masking tape, pencils, erasers, straight edges, hair dryers, and additional surfaces/papers for painting experimentation.

Refunds are issued, minus a $25 fee, through the first class. No refunds are permitted after that time. There are no refunds on workshops.
