Children will learn basic skills using a variety of media. This class focuses on seeing and finding joy in artistic expression. Each class will explore a different theme.

Session 4 Themes: Fall Harvest: Paper Baskets, Leaf Painting, Leaf printing

Session 5 Themes: Winter Wonderland: Christmas Trees, Ornaments, Winter Mittens
Techniques will include drawing, painting, mixed-media collage, and more. Children learn to discover and accept their own style while staying curious and learning new forms of media. All supplies included.

Instructor Jessica Thome will teach students basic principles of drawing including shadow and light. Students will develop and refine skills encompassing a variety of shading techniques. Artists will learn to add depth, texture, and light to drawings. Using examples from classic and modern works, young artists will discover methods to add the appearance of three-dimensional depth to their drawings.
ADVANCED DRAWING

Students will work on a variety of drawing problems using pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, and other dry media to expand on their knowledge of abstract and representational drawing. Gesture and contour drawing, value, texture and shading, and color will all be explored. Students looking to further develop their drawing skills and creative process will benefit as well as those putting together a portfolio for further studies. All supplies included.
YOUTH PRINTMAKING
WITH MINDY MILAN

Explore the art of making block prints using a variety of materials and techniques. Students will learn different ways to print images using natural materials as well as block printing tools. Create your images from drawings and carve into foam and soft rubber to make multiple prints from a single block/stamp. We will make cloth banners, print cards and share images with each other. End the class with a group of prints and a block to create more later.

Instructor Betsy Barger will guide students to complete glaze-fired masterpieces. No experience with clay necessary. Come prepared to get dirty hands and have fun!

PINATA CAMP
WITH MELINA STOCK

Children will design and construct their very own piñatas with instructor Melina Stock. Each student will have the chance to create their own piñatas, as well as work together on a group project. The students will learn to bring their unique ideas to life in a fun, hands-on, messy way! Children will learn the basic history and cultural origins of the piñata during the final class. All supplies included. Please bring a packed lunch.
PLUSH CAMP

Students will have the chance to design and create their own plushies! We will explore sewing and embroidery using a wide variety of textile materials and adornments. Students will have fun designing and building their own dream suites. Experienced teacher Mindy Milan has developed a condensed version of her architecture course for this summer camp. Students will learn basic architecture skills including drafting, section drawing, and model construction techniques. Great class for the experimenter, Lego-lover, and future engineer/architect/designer.

Alice Dickey teaches students to explore the fun and fantasy of creating various art projects around a different theme each day. Daily themes include aviators of the sky, nautical creatures of the deep, mythical creatures, and more. This camp focuses on seeing and finding joy in artistic expression. Children will learn to discover and accept their own style while staying curious and learning new forms of media. All supplies included. Please bring a packed lunch.

At the end of the workshop, each child will go home with at least 3 ceramic works which they made themselves from start to finish. Students will learn new skills in an environment where their creativity is encouraged, and make new friends along the way. All supplies included. Please bring a packed lunch.

FELT ANIMAL WORKSHOP

Create a one-of-a-kind felt animal. Learn the art of needlepoint felting with instruction from Gail Woolever. Each participant will create their very own felt animal to take home. Cookies and hot cider will be served during the workshop. All supplies included.
ORNAMENT WORKSHOP
Saturday, Dec. 4, 1:00pm-4:00pm
Ages: 5+
$50/pair or $90/foursome, 1-day workshop
Work together to create festive one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments as gifts for loved ones or keep for your own collection. Several stations will be set-up for hand-crafting ornaments using paint, garlands, yarn, buttons, beads, glitter and more. Guidance and assistance provided. Cookies, punch, hot cocoa, and music will keep spirits bright during the afternoon.
