Monday Night Watercolor
Mondays, 6:30 – 9 pm $100/5 weeks

Instructors Julia Holmaas teaches both the total beginner and those with some watercolor experience. These classes familiarizes students with a double primary palette, using the watercolor brush and creating watercolor washes, warm and cool color combinations and emotions, designing compositions, and various techniques for creating texture. The series also provides ample opportunity to further explore watercolor methods depending on the student’s level and interests. Each week students will paint from a photograph or still life to create an original painting. Ages 18 and older.
Tuesday Adult Beginner/Intermediate Ceramics
Tuesdays, 6 – 8:30 pm $179/6 weeks

With instructor Harold Woodridge students 18 and older will learn about the clay, glazes, and various tools for ceramic building, and will explore different ways to mold and construct clay pieces both on and off the potter’s wheel. This class is appropriate for beginning or experienced potters. All supplies included. Ages 18 and older.
Drawing for Scaredy Cats

Instructor Sharon Angelina teaches this 5-week class to both absolute beginners, and those wishing to advance their blossoming skills or take a more disciplined approach. Learn basic elements of art, useful techniques, new ways of seeing, and exercises to connect hand and eye. Get a great foundation in the basics, or further your artistic confidence and skill. Each class progressively builds on the last. Ages 13 to adult.

With instructor Lisa Slauson beginning and intermediate students will explore warm and cool color combinations to create landscape paintings with different techniques of applying watercolor to create desired effects. Students will explore how to capture landscape components such as trees, rocks, skies, grasses, and water. Each week a painting will be completed using photo references and real life as composition references. There will be plenty of time for Q & A. All supplies included. Ages 18 and older.
NEW class! Digital Photography
Wednesdays, 6 – 8 pm $100/6 weeks
Oct. 2 – Nov. 6, 2019
Beginners will learn from photographer and instructor Deb Armstrong who will teach basic camera functions and settings, lighting and exposure, composition, file management and storage, digital editing, and online/social media use. Participants will learn how to operate their digital SLR cameras and learn how to compose eye-catching photos instead of just snapshots. Assignments and group critiques will help advance your skills. Q&A time before and after class. Bring your camera and come ready to learn! Ages 18 and older.
Painting with Pastels
Beginning Students 6-week series: Wed. 6:30 – 8:30pm Starting October 9 $100/6 weeks
Intermediate & Advanced Students 4-week series: Wed. 6:30 – 8:30pm Joining in October 23 $70/4 weeks
This 6-week series, designed for those new to the process, will provide a couple weeks of instruction before intermediate and advanced students join the class on week 3.
Students will be guided step by step through the process of painting with soft pastels with experienced artist and instructor Mary Ann Pals. Students will be provided with a supply list after the first class. There are some floor and table top easels available to borrow. Ages 18 and older.

Instructor Suzie Rosso guides and advances students in style and technique with her gentle approach. Many ages and levels enjoy this unique ‘open studio’ style instruction, and find the ability to advance at their own pace in their chosen media. Students should bring their own supplies, and may bring art they are working on at home. $20/class ongoing Ages 18 and older.

Class cancellation policy: No registration taken without full payment. Printed registrations will be taken with a written check or credit card information. Online registrations must include PayPal or credit card payment. Refunds issued minus a $25 fee through the first class. No refunds permitted after that time. A full refund will be issued within 30 days of cancellation if class is cancelled by the Art Barn School of Art.
Adult Workshop registration must be submitted with at least a $100 deposit, Children’s Seasonal Workshop must be submitted with at least a $10 deposit. No refunds on workshops unless cancelled by Art Barn School of Art, in which a full refund will be returned within 30 days.
